After years of less than mediocre remakes and blurred cinematic reinventions, director of the recently completed Footloose remake, Craig Brewer, has finally taken Hollywood’s reputation a step in the right direction. By combining a series of specific elements, Brewer has ensured that the 80s vibe that made the original Footloose timeless stays true in this modern interpretation. After some exclusive press previews, the Fancy more than applauds his accomplishments.
Brewer cuts no corners in achieving his vision for the film. Not only did he cast a Kevin Bacon look alike, but also went as far as digging up the same old Panaflexes used to shoot the original, and loading them with filthy 16mm film.
“His vision was so spot on with the original film,” said Kevin Bacon look alike, Kevin Bacon. “It made working with Brewer easily one of the top 10 moments in my career so far.”
A new trailer for the film was released a few days ago that can be viewed below.

Although most critics who’ve had exclusive access to watching first cuts of the film have been raving of its accomplishments, a few others have disagreed.
“I don’t get what all the hype is about,” said philosophy major, Harriet Timble. “The book was so much better.”
Be sure to check it all out when the film opens October 14th, 2011.
